Client feedback
The following testimonials from our clients are child-specific & are not an indication of how your child will respond to intervention. Outcomes vary, and are dependent on a wide range of factors.
"The progress has just been incredible. We can't thank you enough."
"(My son) benefitted hugely. The progress that was made in 4-5 speech therapy sessions was amazing".
"Amazing. I have recommended private speech therapy to others as the progress (my child) has made is fabulous and his willingness to try things, persevere and celebrate achievements is evident".
“Fiona is a brilliant speech and language therapist. Finding out that your child isn’t quite where they should be developmentally can be a bit stressful. Fiona is great at putting adults and children at ease and creating a positive and supportive environment. She is very caring and non-judgemental and puts a lot of individualised effort in to each child. Plus, she really gets results. Our son who was a late talker has made huge progress and is now right where he needs to be for his age (which we probably didn’t think he would be 12 months ago). We are so pleased with the outcome - it was well and truly worth it!”
"Thank you so much for your help with (my child's) speech, it's fair to say he's doing very well at school. He's confident and a bit of a chatterbox now. Many people are amazed he was speech delayed at all!"
"(We enjoyed) her appreciation of what our child CAN do, always putting things in a positive way, eg. When (my child) is being stubborn, she is being 'decisive', and offering up fantastic ideas of ways we can help (my child) to make appropriate decisions and focus her attention.
"I'm really incredibly pleased with how he has improved. Thanks for all of your work and support".
We appreciated being made to feel welcome and her belief in (my child's) overall capabilities. Out of all the specialists/drs/surgeons we've dealt with, she is the first person to recognise and be positive about the potential we believe he has.
"Fiona worked with our son who has autism, so when our daughter was diagnosed she was our first port of call. We knew she was good and we knew we could trust her."
"We had SLT input (elsewhere) a couple of years ago but it didn't seem to do anything so we gave up for a while. You (Fiona) were so thorough though and so the right person for us!. You're just wonderful and this feels like just the right time to get stuck in and do this."
"Since (Fiona) worked with (my child), she has become much more confident and outgoing – We really appreciate your help"
"(My child) never felt 'stink' or 'wrong'. At every step of the way she felt encouraged and was always excited about coming for sessions. She was so proud showing her Dad her speech therapy videos"
"(Fiona was) consistently constructive with any errors, empathetic, caring (and) responsive to my child's individual needs. Fiona used my child's interests as tools to teach him (e.g., lego, painting, playing). Fiona's methods and her personality are brilliant. She is highly effective and enjoyable during sessions and this makes completing the homework just as enjoyable. The results are amazing. The excellence of (Fiona's) practice stood out immediately. She assisted my son to make immense progress very quickly and we have continued to make gains and identify new areas to work on. Everyone has noticed the difference in his speech. Strangers, teachers, family, and ourselves can now understand what he is saying. He is less frustrated, more happy in general, has more confidence and now feels willing to stand up in front of his class and speak. There are less tears shed from him from being misunderstood and he has a positive attitude toward learning."
"We loved our experience and would recommend Fiona to anyone needing help"
"Fiona has a lovely manner with children which enables her to build rapport and trust. She does not rush the child she is working with and incorporates the children's interests into her activities. My son particularly enjoyed watching the videos of himself which Fiona made to help develop his language. Fiona also came to our home for the sessions which was extremely helpful for me! I enjoyed having clear goals to work towards each fortnight and fun strategies that are easy to incorporate into everyday life. My son made great progress. Fiona worked with our Ministry of Education speech pathologist once assigned to ensure continuity of therapy and provided a detailed progress report which was helpful in handover. Fiona was great to work with and we will definitely keep in touch and engage her services in future".
"(Fiona) is fantastic and I constantly recommend (her) to people. I tell people that I cannot speak more highly of (her)."
"He learnt how to form the sounds he had trouble with (and) is always asking when he can go and see her, so Fiona must be doing things really well"
"My son had over a year of speech therapy with (other provider) with virtually no progress. After just six speech therapy sessions with Fiona, his speech errors have all been fixed and he doesn't need therapy any more!! Thank you so much!"
"Many thanks for the speech therapy you gave (my child). He really enjoyed his sessions with you and he is more confident now with his speech"
"Thank you so much for all the help you have given him, and making such a big difference. (My) mum couldn't believe the difference in his speech and how clear it was! It has been so rewarding to see the big changes/improvement in the speech. He is so confident talking now, a real little chatterbox"
"My son was receiving speech therapy through (other provider). Over what seemed approximately a year he made barely any progress. I sought out Fiona because I could tell she would be amazing.
